cGMP Ascites Production and Antibody Purification Services
Ascites production is the most cost effective method of generating antibody
from your hybridoma cell line. At MBS, primed adult Balb/c, or any other
requested strain of mouse, are injected with your cell line. As a result,
ascites fluid develops over the next 10-14 days and is harvested. With each
successive tap, the quantity of ascites fluid decreases while the antibody
concentration increases. The last ascites collection contains most of your
antibody. The pooled ascites taps are then clarified by centrifugation and
gauze filtration. Average Ascites volumes are 3-5mL/mouse at an expected
antibody concentration of 3-5mg/mL.

Ascites Purification Services
Murine monoclonal IgGs are purifed from ascites or in vitro technology by protein A or G affinity chromatography. MBS purifications are eluted by pH gradient to ensure the gentlest conditions possible. (read more about our purification methods in News section)
